Group Therapy

"One of the most powerful things we can do to heal one another is to listen to each other's stories." - Rebecca Falla

It is in a group that we can best find our reflections in others. Group therapy allows you to explore how you relate, perceive, listen and experience the presence of others. It is an environment in which you can gain an understanding of how you show up in relationships, but most of all it is a space where you can find support, be seen and met by other group members, it provides a unique opportunity to experience the presence of another and realise that you are not alone.

Groups we offer

CLIK Therapy offers you the chance to explore your sense of self, identity and ways of being in an atmosphere of safety co created by you, your peers and the group facilitator. This is done by maintaining the balance between creative means of exploration and speaking with others who are on a similar stage of their recovery. Each individually tailored programme is an opportunity to deepen understanding of who you are and what recovery means to you. There will be space for discussion to help integrate various discoveries, and a gentle focus on spontaneity and play to facilitate connection, openness and experimentation.

Entering Recovery

Our ‘Entering Recovery Group’ is the first stage in CLIK’s facilitated recovery programme. This 90-minute-long session takes place weekly with a maximum of 6 participants and 1 facilitator. It is a safe and gentle space, designed for those who have little experience of one-to-one therapy and/or have never been part of a therapy group before. Here you will be introduced to the cornerstones of group work and the power of peer support. Participants must commit to a minimum of twelve weeks’ ongoing attendance of this group to create and sustain the healing potential of this work.

Exploring Recovery

Our online ‘Exploring Recovery Group’ is the second stage in CLIK’s facilitated recovery programme. This 90-minute-long session takes place weekly with a maximum of 8 participants and 1 facilitator. Here you will really begin to get a sense of the magic of group dynamics, not just in terms of continued peer support but also in learning much more about yourself and how you relate. Trying out new behaviours within the safety of a facilitated therapy group - removing old self-defeating patterns and really uncovering your authentic self - can be life-changing! This is a creative and experimental space for you to take your recovery to a new level and expand your tolerance for difference. Next, you can take that learning out into the world and watch your relationships transform, both with others and yourself.

Exploring Relationships

Our Exploring Relationships group is designed for you to learn what healthy relationships look like between romantic partners, family members and colleagues. Throughout the groups we will examine and explore the patterns in your relationship, and learn more about how to improve relationships. At CLiK Therapy we understand it is often difficult to navigate topics such as sexual relationships, this group has been specifically designed to  provide a safe and gentle space for you to share and learn aspects of your sexual experiences and history in order to explore your relationship to sex and intimacy.

Interpersonal Processing

This group focuses on processing what is happening in the here and now, and how your past experiences impact the way you are in the present. We teach that awareness of how you show up in relationships is the first step towards change through acceptance. The Interpersonal Processing group can serve as a microcosm of the outside world, and it will allow you to challenge yourself by exploring your interactions with others in the group; in the same way as to how you interact with your relationships and experiences in the outside world.

Food Groups

Our Food Groups are designed to create a normal, healthy and fun environment for participants. The aim of our food groups is to challenge damaging beliefs that dieting and food labeling are effective tools for a healthy lifestyle. Each group member is working toward making independent and intuitive choices with regard to their food. Our team will offer support, guidance and advice in order to allow you to achieve your individual goals, and support you in connecting with your body's needs.

Nutrition Group

This group is designed for you to develop a healthy relationship with your body through food. We will discuss thoughts and feelings around food, and dispel common damaging food beliefs, fears and rules. The group will tackle messages in the media around food and health and how to view these with the cynicism they deserve, whilst at the same time taking on interesting pointers without it becoming destructive. Other sessions will focus on exploring your “individual food personality”, and empower you with practical skills such as cooking and supermarket shopping.

Recovery Coaching

Our Recovery Coaching group is designed to explore the barriers you feel are holding you back from becoming you. Throughout the groups we will examine how challenging your self-compassion and connection can be in a world that encourages us to think, not feel. We will explore key topics such as; how to be competitive and fearful of others, jealousy and building boundaries. The aim of Recovery Coaching is to offer a new perspective where you are able to nurture a rounded societal view which champions you, and allows you to shine.

Ending Recovery

Our ‘Ending Recovery Group’ is a 90 minute-long session that takes place weekly with a maximum of 8 participants and 1 facilitator. Though all themes are welcome, the focus here will remain primarily on endings; what it means to come to a point of completion and how to nurture your recovery going forwards. From drawing up practical plans for nurturing yourself once you have left the group, to discussing possible future triggers or setbacks, this group is aimed at getting you in the best possible position to go ahead and thrive once you leave CLIK.
